Return-Trip of Rt. 8 on May 24, 2012.

We dropped off John White who lives in
the depths of the Triplett community.

Barbara is always happy to get home to her cats.

Ruby likes to stop and pick up her mail
before we head up her driveway.

and Ruby has her own apartment
at her daughters house.

Melvin and Hallie
have lived at their home

for over 50 years.

Like Ruby, Melvin likes to pick up his mail
before proceeding up his road.
Notice that son, Alvin, who lives next door
to Melvin and Hallie,
also has his mailbox there.  

See the beehives in the background?
When Melvin rings the bell, it calms the bees.

Bubba is sooo happy when
Melvin and Hallie return home.

While driving, she wears her seatbelt
and her orange safety vest.

Look at the lovely cake that 3 senior-citizen ladies made for us. Weekly, AppalCART transports the ladies from home to Watauga County Project on Aging.

The Lois E. Harrill Senior Center serves the senior citizens of Watauga County and is located in the Watauga County Human Services Building at 132 Poplar Grove Connector, Suite A, Boone. The mission of the Center is to create an environment that encourages independence in older adults and promotes their active participation in all aspects of their lives.
